Homemade Peanut Butter

Ever wonder if homemade peanut butter is really cheaper than buying it in the jar?

I can usually get jars of peanut butter on sale and use coupons. The difference is that the jars are not NATURAL.

This recipe is nothing more than fresh peanuts and just a little peanut oil for spreading consistency.

For me the two cannot be compared. Yes, I use jarred stuff. However, there's something satisfying about feeding my family something fresh and knowing EXACTLY what's in it.

If you ever buy fresh peanut butter from the grocery store of farmer's market, then yes, this recipe will save you tons.

This recipe makes about 1 cup and lasts about 2 months in the fridge, or 1 month in the cupboard.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups roasted, shelled and skinned peanuts
  • 1 Tbs peanut oil
  • Salt to taste (if the peanuts are not salted)

Directions

Chop the peanuts in a food processor, adding peanut oil and blending continuously until t is the desired consistency.

For a crunchy consistency, stir in ½ cup of chopped roasted peanuts after processing.

Store in a sealed jar in refrigerator.
